Hamaguchi to miss Olympic opening ceremony

TOKYO — Japan's gold medal hope Kyoko Hamaguchi and three other women
wrestlers have decided not to attend the opening ceremony of this
summer's Athens Olympics.
Five-time world champion Hamaguchi and her teammates will miss the Aug.
13 ceremony as they want to complete their final preparations for the
games at a training camp in Tokyo from Aug 10-14. They will enter the athletes
village in Greece on Aug 16. (Kyodo News)
