Miller takes third in Colorado Springs

Woodward High School wrestler Joey Miller has been back on the mats again. Recently Miller was nominated to the "The Mat/Asics Girls High School All American Wrestling Team for the second time in her career.
Miller wrestled in Colorado Springs this past weekend in the World Team Trials where she placed third going 4-1. In her first match, Miller defeated Samantha Schuman on Missouri Valley 2-1 and 6-0. In her second match she lost to Jenny Wong of Sunkist 0-2 and 0-6. Miller pinned her third opponant, Kristen Condello of Women of Wrestling Club, then won her forth match against Jessica Medina of the University of the Cumberlands 2-0, 0-2, 1-0. In the match for third place, Miller grappled with Julietta Okot from the New York Athletic Club and won 5-0, 0-2, and 3-0, earning her a place on the World Team.
Miller will be attending a camp in Stillwater this week befor competing in the National Tournament in Fargo N.D. in the final week of July. Miller won the National title last year at 102 pounds.
