Joey Miller of Woodward puts an opponent on his back in
wrestling action this summer. Miller, who is wrapping up her
sixth grade year, won the United States Girls Wrestling
Association national title in March along with an AAU nation-
al championship in Tulsa, where she received the outstanding
wrestler award. In freestyle wrestling she won three tourna-
ments, got a second and a third. She was also picked to the
Oklahoma Schoolboy Duals team that will compete in dual
nationals at Indiana in June. The team will also go to Dallas
for the freestyle regionals and Enid for freestyle nationals.
Miller is the only girl on the Oklahoma team and the only girl
competing on any of the teams at the dual nationals. (Photo
